Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do you have any questions about how the project works or how data is collected?
Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions. If you don't see what you are looking for, feel free to contact us directly : we will be happy to assist you.
What is this study about?
This study aims to analyze and reduce food waste in corporate canteens using advanced machine learning techniques. By analyzing images of trays before and after meals, we aim to better understand consumption and waste patterns.
How can I participate in the study?
To participate, you will need to read and sign an informed consent form explaining how your data will be collected and used. If you wish, you’ll receive a card that allows you to access your data through the WebApp “mangIA”.
How does data collection work?
During the meal service, automatic photos of the trays are taken before and after eating. These images are analyzed by algorithms to estimate the amount of food consumed and wasted.
What happens to the collected data?
The data is used to analyze food waste patterns and help improve menus and sustainability in canteens.
Will my personal data be protected?
Yes. All data will be handled in compliance with GDPR, with limited access and advanced security measures.
Does the process slow down the meal service?
No. The process only takes a few seconds and does not interfere with the canteen flow.
Can I view my data?
Yes. If you use the card, you can access the WebApp and view aggregate stats.
How can I get more information if I have questions or concerns?
You can speak to a canteen operator or contact the research team using the contact details provided in the information material.
